PAUL B

Pavel Burakov aka Paul B began his drum and bass career in early 1997 and
by 1999 along with 2 other producers had created his first project The
Sounds Of Infinity. After a few releases and performances all over Russia,
Paul found himself ready to take on the world scene and teamed up with Alex
Sta. In Summer 2001 they made their first track and within 3 months DJ
Trace discovered their talents and signed them to his label DSCI4, a
massive breakthrough for the Russian scene! Tracks include The Lick, Step
2 Zero, Gush, Secrets Inside and of course their first vocal tune Come
Closer. These tunes have been getting lots of airplay by likes of
Grooverider, BC, Kemal, SS, J Majik, Optical, Marky and many more all over
the world thanks to Trace and DSCI4 recordings promotion.

Paul started to put his online studio mixes up monthly for free play and
found himself in great demand as a DJ and causing a ruckus everywhere he
played, Austria, Estonia, Norway, Slovenia, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland
and more...Paul keeps collaborating with other Russian producers such as
Dissident and Subwave. Dissident and Paul's Technecium has been signed to
Renegade Hardware thanks to its futuristic mixture of pure techno and drum
and bass. Paul and Subwave's Something Sick became an anthem for DSCI4 WM
2003 party.

Nowadays Paul appears as the most active Russian drum and bass DJ and
producer having lots of releases under a number of labels, still recording
his freeplay online mixes (called Nuborn) and has now launched his own
label - STEP2ZERO recordings, surely the one to watch for.

SOURU

Marko Russiver aka Souru, sits at the top of the Estonian drum and bass
scene, running Tallinn based Disturbed Recordings, Estonia's first drum n
bass imprint, which has turned heads across the globe and is achieving
swift international recognition and acclaim, headlining massives in Tallinn
and broadcasting to 10000 listeners on his weekly Showdown FM show. Not to
mention an arsenal of gigs under his belt, spanning from Estonia to Russia
and almost everywhere between.

Being brought up in the northern block, electronic music wasn't something
that Souru was exposed to very often. He grew up listening to the street
poetry of MC's from other countries and being inspired by the lyrics hip
hop soon engulfed his life. Souru took his love of the music to the next
level and began to experiment with turntablism. He was introduced
to drum and bass in early 2001 when Bad Company made an appearance in
Tallinn, he was instantly hooked and proceeded to buy as much drum and bass
vinyl as he could, not an easy task in Tallinn, which motivated him to start
organising his own events/club nights and he became actively involved with
radio and internet broadcasting.

A newcomer to the international field, Souru's future seems bright, he is
about to start his International career with a US tour and then straight
back over the Atlantic to hit Europe, his label Disturbed goes from
strength to strength signing artists such as Danny C, Future Prophecies,
Muffler, Silent Witness, Concord Dawn, Ill.Skillz, Evol Intent, Counterstrike, B.Key
and so on, his fierce
selections combined with his precise mixing skills ensure Souru is one not
to be missed.

MUFFLER

Biography:
At just 22 years old, Konsta Mikkonen aka "Muffler" has certainly had a busy
and successful career
for such young bloke. With a host of releases in UK labels, Muffler has
certainly made an impact.
Previous releases on Urban Takeover were accepted worldwide by both clubbers
and DJ's and his CD album
on Urban Takeover "Soundz Of The Future" has got a warm welcome too. Muffler
has releases forthcoming
and out on labels Moving Shadow, TOV, Barcode, Heavy Rotation, Hospital,
Invader, Cell, Frequency, Metaphor,
Disturbed, Circle and Night.

His tracks has been played by Andy C, Grooverider, Fabio, Zinc, Fresh BC,
Optical, Trace, Aphrodite,
Mickey Finn, Concord Dawn, London Elektricity, High Contrast, Matrix to name
but a few.

As a DJ, Muffler always plays dubplate heavy selection with latest cuts from
himself and other producers.
So far he has played in UK, Denmark (roskilde festival), Estonia, Germany,
Spain, Russia and in many places in Finland.

MC STIRLIN

Here is a full bio profile of stirlin :

" From school times I was always into Music and English, they were the things that probably got me through the boring times. I used to read anything and everything, as I loved to devour words and understand the meaning of them all. I always felt even then, that an understanding of and being articulate in speech was a strength, so I loved word and their power !

From those time's I loved my Hip Hop and R&B to the max and used to religiously check the radio airwaves for a fix of what was going on in the scene, always eager to hear some new flavour. I was mesmerised at how these rappers used to be able, to do their thing on a track or at a concert and everyone would just get hype. One day though, that all got shattered when one of my mate's at school passed me the headphones cause I wanted to check what he was listening to – boy that was it !

He was listening to this dance music with an MC chatting over it, hyping up the crowd, with horns going off and all - that was it, I was hooked !

From then, I was going in !

I must have been locked into whatever Pirate was on, namely Don, KOOL, Pressure, Rush, Rude, week in & week out, trying to immerse myself in this music. At the time, it was like I was trying to decipher these breakbeats, which I could only describe at the time as being eye and ear opening.

From there it was an upward spiral, where I started checking out MetalHeadz, Thunder and Joy, AWOL, World Dance, amongst others. It felt nice man, without being clichéd, it felt right.

Alongside doing the party thing I was locked into the Radio as much as I could, driving my old dear mad at night, cause I used to creep downstairs to use the stereo in the front room, cause that had the best reception and a tape deck to record. She used to come down at like three in the morning screwing that I was still up, whilst everyone was sleeping………listening to the radio, ha ha ha ha ha – sorry Mum !!

You know, it's weird, the person who really proper seriously, but indirectly got me into the whole MC thing, was Mampi Swift. I remember on one of my nightly radio missions, I was locked into KOOL and he was doing a graveyard set at some mad hour over the weekend. I was locked in and studiously listened, the beats were tuff, the mixing was tuff and the phone was popping off - I wanted to be part of this scene……

The next day I got my tape deck and my mums tape deck and created a crudely engineered mix tape with Mampi Swift's set from the night before and my first attempt at being an MC - I was born, albeit slightly incoherent

As time went on I got more and more confident about what I wanted to do and started to hook up a producer called Ivor, who was a friend of a friend's, round the corner from my Mums house. He had a studio and I used to go up to his yard and basically bun it down and listen to the beats he was making. When Ivor played me his stuff, I always chatted along to tracks in my, then, high pitched scrawl of a voice and he would encourage me saying that I should develop that shit and do something with it. Yeah man, it definitely was the first place I properly started to learn how to be a beat navigator in a proper setup with a mic and stuff.

Reinforced was in my manor and Ivor used to know them mans and talked about them doing their thing and representing for the underground. I wanted to be involved in that, as they were making something new and exciting. At the time, I didn't realise such an influential label was on my doorstep breeding beats that fueled many a rave and party. It was good cause they where from my manor and made an impact on the scene, so it could be done by normal people.

I used to see vocalists and other producers come round and put down their shit. Uncannily I remember vividly, a load of peeps were there having a session, with me in the background observing and listening silently, thinking “rareeeee these people are proper talented”. After they had finished, Ivor could see I was itching to buss some lyrics, so he put a beat on a loop, gave me a mic and said "chat on it, see what you can do". He left me for about forty-five minutes and I just buss my stuff to myself in the studio, just happy that I got the chance to break it down on some beats, live and direct.

From then on, I basically stated to meet more and more people through partying and what not and started to put myself about through mix tapes and house parties. Those were my raves man, I was cutting my teeth in front of 20 people, which was totally nerve racking at the same time. After hooking up with people here and there making tapes and raving, I finally ended up linking with two DJ's, Assassin and Sniper who made up two-thirds of a click I named IQPOSSE

We seemed to have it all working well and after about a year of jamming and doing house parties, we done a demo tape for Ruud Awakening. After much harassing of Lady Sirus and Chillum, in the form of repeated phonecalls to them, we eventually got our shot and cut our teeth on the FM in Summer 98.

We entitled our radio shows as the IQ Interactive Sessions. After experiencing the buzz of our first radio show, we all realised that we had started on the long road to becoming someone and had broken our own personal barrier of coming out of the bedroom and onto a more wider platform. As we grew in confidence and ability, we managed to blaze up the airwaves with our unique IQ sound.

I was on the station for two years, breaking it down with people like Twisted Individual, DM-Cut, Eksman, Mojo, Steppa, Stylee, Fearless, Rapid, Usual Suspects and KW. I think radio helped to define my style in them early days, as the fact that people were locked on and locked in, meant you had to be fresh and come with something constructive to say. I suppose it all boils down to the best piece of advice I ever got, from Lady Sirus relating to being an MC. I remember her saying :

" Talk to the crowd / listeners, cause that's what a good MC is about! " -

After an eclectic mix of getting married and having a motorbike smack I decided to knock it all on the head in 2000, as to be really honest I was becoming bored of the music and everything else that was happening at the time. But after a year of not checking pirate radio, going to raves, chilling in the studio etc, I got more and more restless. I think the more I heard about man doing their thing and getting deserved props, I thought to myself " Fuck this, I need to do this, I'm part of this, this is my music !! "

Well thats the full bio profile blurb of how it all came about, its pretty much the same as everyone else's innit - its funny, this music thing aint a fad, its a lifestyle, a way of living and a way of growing up, kicking it with your bredrins and just wanting to play music and shit !

Circa to the present day: since 2001, I have had the opportunity to play at a variety of event's here and abroad which I have enjoyed. At all these events I have given 110% of my energy, which I feel is important to pass on to people coming to a rave or club environment - they and I want to have a good time !!

I have had the oppurtunity to play alongside a variety of crews and have worked with, Dj's such as:

Goldie, SS, Hype, Storm, Fabio, Addiction, Social Security, Boomer, Grooverider, Bailey, Equinox, Monkey & Large, Randall, SHY FX, Temper D, Friction, Swift, Senses, Sonic, Silver, Rawthang, Sketchy, Tachyon, Clever, Robyn Chaos, Baggs, Total Science, Audio, Ink, L-Double, Ink, Electric Lane, Lee, Blame, Klute, C4C, Dieselboy, New Republic, Spirit, Lee, Digital, Concord Dawn, Lucid, Subfocus, Tech Itch, Danny C, Audio, Ruff Stuff, Mackie, Mat Trifelife,. Dylan, ASC, Bad Company, Concept, Audio Device, Rawfull, Cyantific, Doc Scott, Photek, Kasra Critical, Nicky BlackMarket, Probe One, Loxy, Vincent and The Commix amongst others.

I have had the oppurtunity to play and recieve hospitality, in the following countries : Japan, Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Austria, France, America, Jersey, Holland as well as my own UK soil. In respect of that, I would consider myself to be a versatile MC, that has been able to navigate all types of breakbeat seamlessly, irrespective of it, not being my mother beat.....

2004, the story goes on baby

also für alle interessierten!

illskillz hab ich nur nicht erwähnt, weil ich 1. grad keine bio find und 2. eh alles klar sein sollt! --> wems noch nicht bewusst war es kommt rawfull (dkay leider nicht)
