Taking things back to the times when drum & bass was just drum & bass, this stepping piece draws it's influences from all corners of the scene. There's the deepness, the abstract, the tech, the emotion, and the impact for the floor. ASC & Motion have conjured up a slice of drum & bass in 2005, that has all the right ingredients to appeal to a wide audience. The drums have a good punch to them, the pads are full of vibrance, the vocal samples sit right, and the bass is there to be felt. Look out for more from these two on ASC's Covert Operations label.

Side AA: Greenfly - Neural Net
Greenfly rounds this 12" off in some style. A lovely wash of pads and subtle guitars carry this along on a wave of electro pulsing bass hits and snappy beats. This tune is a real journey, from the moment you hear it, until the moment it finishes. Imagine a train with many different carriages, going from one destination to another - this is the musical equivalan. It builds the vibe nicely, drops some serene guitar licks, then changes course and takes you on a ride. Greenfly demonstrates his ability to write catchy melodic drum & bass, and then some!
