Utah Jazz Biography:
Luke Wilson’s music career started more than a decade ago when he began to DJ and learn the production ropes with legend Alex Reece as a teenager. Fast forward to 2006 and this ‘drum & bass super star in the making’ has well and truly arrived. Already described as ‘the new champion of soulful drum & bass’ by DJ Mag, the Utah Jazz sound appeals to dance floors and living rooms alike with creative and original productions such as ‘Runaway’ (Liquid V) described by Fabio (Radio 1) as his ‘tune of the year’ in 2005...
Productions aside, check this man out on the decks and you’ll begin to realise why he’s now one of the most in demand DJs on the worldwide d&b circuit. Having already toured the globe with headline gigs from Sardinia to Singapore and all the London super clubs including Fabric Live, The End and Ministry of Sound, things are about to blow up for this 26 year old North Londoner. You have been warned!
Utah Jazz Summer Releases:
In your shops now is the mighty Liquid V Club Sessions Volume 2 CD Compiled and mixed by Artificial Intelligence which features both Utah’s liquid anthem, Runaway and his massive rework of Roni Size & DJ Die’s It’s A Jazz Thing. With the promos flying swiftly out of shops a few months back, Runaway will be finally hitting stores worldwide next month as part of the Club Sessions next EP (LQD016) and is accompanied by other great tracks from the likes of Danny Byrd and TC.
Also to be released late July / early August on V Recordings (V013) is Utah Jazz’s huge remix of platinum selling, MOBO award winning drum & bass superstar Roni Size! With the BBC adding it to their 1Xtra daytime playlist and support from pretty much anyone who’s anyone in the d&b scene (Pendulum, Grooverider, Andy C and High Contrast to name a few) this is set to be THE biggest drum & bass remix of 2006... It’s a (Utah) Jazz Thing Baby!
Utah Jazz Summer DJ Schedule:
Utah’s summer schedule includes the usual range of performances from Movement @ Bar Rumba to a number of cities across the UK. Festival wise, you can catch The Jazz headlining all over Europe including Spain, Sardinia and Siberia!
