TEBA is the “Original Social worker” also known as “The Shepherd,” “Mr Shumba” and “Teba 20-5-2-1 Digitally”. This talented musician, vocalist and ragga artist started his career with Kwaito group, Skeem, who were awarded the FNB Sama Award for “Best Township Pop” in 1997. He engaged himself in the arts and dedicated his skills and time to projects based on human and arts development. He has traveled extensively to countries around the globe including France, Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific Islands, Solomon Islands, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland and Lesotho. His live and studio collaborations include working with artists such as Ishmael, P.O.C, Sharon D, and Alexis Faku (Oyaba), Mdu Masilela, CROZ (Chronic Clan), Junior Dread (from Boom Shaka), Derex, Gurash, Oude Meeste, Trybe,Amu, KB, JUAN THYME, DJ DOPE, and Jabu Sibumbe. His cutting edge crossover of raggamuffin / dancehall / hip-hop / dub and reggae gives a dynamic insight into South African township life today. Using music as his weapon of choice, his mission is to revive the revolutionary spirit that has ceased to flame since the 1994 South African election, emphasizing the struggle towards achieving global humanitarianism.
