Well, what is there to say about this party? A whole lot! I think it is time for a few words from me (the organizer). As a Dutchmen living in Graz I missed the quality beats, breaks and buzzing basslines while clubbing. So I decided to organize a party on my own in the Punk “do it yourself” philosophy. After looking at various possibilities the date and place were set at the Arcadium.
Maybe you know the Dutch DnB export like NOISIA, Black Sun Empire, Eye D and HIDDEN etc. But the colourful musical landscape of the Netherlands has a whole lot more to offer than just these big shots. Come and enjoy the musical journey and be part of an exclusive peek into the innovating labs of these artists!

Todays Highlight is about DJ/Producer Druid
Hailing from the center of the Netherlands, Druid's musical roots can be traced back to old school hip hop and jungle, acid, techno, trance, big beat, and the menacing industrial sounds of hardcore/gabber.
Druid started spinning in the summer of '99 and has performed in venues all over the country, such as Nighttown, Tivoli, Goudvishal, Atak, Ekko and Club Mezz. Together with partner-in-crime DJ Flavour he organized the Dungeons & DJs events, and is very involved in the successful Utrecht based "Utreg Massive" crew. Besides a bimonthly party in Tivoli de Helling, the Utreg Massive crew has had 2 CD releases, 2 release party's in Theater Kikker and 3 very successful 'birthday bash' party's in Tivoli, Utrecht.
Druid is heavily influenced by the likes of Generation Dub, Hazard, Clips, Audio, Raiden, Nightwalker and Nero, so expect a lot of energy, good vibes, heavy rollers and technoid slammers sandwiched in between party tunes!
Druids latest mix for your listening pleasure:

"The tales of ROBIN and his LOVE for FUNKY MUSIC"
I want to realize the ultimate ideal: everything the best for everyone, everywhere and always.
Robin (31) is born in a wrong decade.... With him his audience will dive deep into the psychedelic and rare grooves of past times spiced up with contemporary music. Mix and mingle the love, peace and happyness to a more universal understanding for you chilling pleasure at Dutch Import!
Apart for dj-ing he organizes jam sessions, free for all picknicks in the park and takes part in meditation and yoga exercizes.... Now its time to unwind your mind and let the mellow music be in sync with your good vibrations.

Majestic and Mc XL3
Majestic
Myself:
I alway's had a love for music since my childhood.
When I was 13 I discovered an amazing piece of software for that time called Screamtracker, a sampling sequencer with a total of 32/64 tracks! I made hundres of songs with this little app en progressively became better at making music.
When I was 17, I came into contact with some rap groups that seriously wanted to create some albums, with them I produced 3 cd's, fully produced by me.
At that age (in '98) I came to know DJ Scream (Richard Terborg) through school, he had a mixer and a Denon xxxxxx-series and when our class had an introduction weekend on Sea-aquarium beach (on Curaçao) he brought along his denon and mixer, we decided to find some electricity and go home pickup my Amp and speakers and just starting playing on the beach, we had a GREAT time playing back2back all day and we got a lot of compliments that day.
So began our Drive-in spree on the island, we played at almost every rock party and provided the bands some relax time between sessions with our Hardcore and Jungle tunez!
When I came back to Holland in 2001, I played resident at various dancecafe's and nightclubs.
And even got a resident spot at a nightclub in Themse, Belgium where I playing mostly Hardcore and Hardstyle for about a year.
And also started making remixes for use in my sets and opening a website for people to download them, working together with DJ Savtug we had +-12GB of downloads a month with our mixes allone!
Missing playing Jungle, I gave up spinnin',producing for other genres and a girlfriend of mine got me in touch with Robby van der Zande, who started to organise his own parties () and ways looking for a drum&bass DJ, a style he very much loved too and still organises parties to this day!
Various parties later a old time schoolfriend of mine XL3 joined me as MC XL3 with his very own style that's constantly improving and getting faster with his blazin'speed raps!
The future:
I hope to get to know allot more fantastic people in the DnB/Junglescene, to keep improving my mixing capabilities, adding more "extra" stuff, like live performance and live sampling elements to my sets......and sorry to say for some DJ's getting rid of those damned CD's and Vinyl's, haha!
MC XL3
XL3 = X-tra Large Leonard Leerdam
Who I am
I'm the lyrical connection of our drum and bass tandem
I am the Mic-carrier
I provide live vocal hosting and entertainment,
the voice of our music, if you will.
With that said, it should be obvious that our non-vocal, local majesty 'n me
See eye to eye on what it is music should bring to listeners.
Music is love, Music has goals
Music's where I go to put the world on hold
Where I go for the words I mold
To share my love
And goals at shows
To gloat my flows
And make the world my own
Summary:
Leonard, a University alumnus, who intends to break into the music industry
by skill or by force, won't let the world get him down.
In these times that rappers and other musicians keep popping onto the scene
succesfully, this (hip-hop) genre has become more crowded and the elite get
defined by a wider criteria day by day, yet XL insists he is not another amber in the
flames,but the heat itself.
At an ambitious 23, he spends most of his free time writing music;
Doing so for the past four years on a daily basis resulted in a unique
flow, that is quite new to the drum and bass scene.
Now it must be said that he never started writing with the intent to MC or
even rap for that matter, he just figured he had better things to tell the world
than whatever was already out there, e.g. as much as he loved Cam'ron and the
dipset, he would listen to the music with improvement in mind of it's messages
content.
Until Majestic introduced him to the drum and bass scene, quite a new scene,
where we'd mix up the old jungle with the new messages for classic drum and
bass tunes that have rocked parties through out the Netherlands.
And even though drum and bass is not a heavy lyrical musical genre,
Majestic's new audio weapon says the message just has to get delivered more
impactful, with less words and more feeling.
And now many feel him.
XL's inspirational road:
He started somewhere at the end of the 80's,
through the early 90's, not that abba is still
inspirational, but the fact that Michael Jackson,
along with eighties disco and some of that early madonna,
and just that musical era of simple "computer"
sounds with melodic singing have always turned on the XL.
Along with singing in church, watching jazz performances
with his parents and guitar classes that resulted in a
talent with a bass guitar, the tone for his love for music was set.
He would play many rock ballads on the bass guitar, until he discovered
his lyrical passion, larger than the 4 strings could ever produce, words
really talk to people, tunes just carry them.
So with that in mind, he has been listening to words from talented
musical speakers such as Styles P, Notorious B.i.G. and the diplomats.
That was still his musical preference, until he bumped into Majestic
and the DnB scene;
XL was astounded; it sounded more like the vision of music in his head
than he had never heard before and this is where XL is right now:
Exploring the genre along the way to a new music,
is in his head and, he insists, will soon be in yours.

Todays update is all about Shanodin (23)
Shanodin is best know for her release with NOISIA, Angels Eyes and Afternoon Delight:
Engine Music proudly present their 2nd release, a double A side by Noisia & Shanodin.
Side a. NOISIA (aka drifter) & SHANODIN
'AFTERNOON DELIGHT'
Noisia, the distinguished dutch production outfit, team up with young dutch talent Shanodin to deliver a deep, funky roller previously synonymous to their Drifter moniker. Uplifting pads and strings set the mood as the beats filter in and the track begins to build untill one is dropped into a whirlwind of tight, crisp beats, driving percussion and sub bass. Just as you thought you got the hang of it the track switches up into a moody tech-roller with dubbed out percussion before one is taken on the whole ride again. Without a doubt this mix of bitter sweet will be a delight on any dancefloor.
Side b. NOISIA (aka drifter) & SHANODIN
'ANGEL EYES'
On the flip, again one finds the combined efforts of Noisia and Shanodin with the much anticipated Angel Eyes. Epic filmscore drum and bass at its very best. Enter: Noisia’s trademark heavy kick and snare combos, subterranean bass, intricate high-end, enchanting female vocal sample and epic strings. The stage is set to embark on an expedition through the highs and lows of uncharted territory. If Peter Jackson had comissioned a drum and bass score for LOTR this is what it should have sounded like.
[ENM002] • Noisia (Drifter) & Shanodin • 'Afternoon Delight'
Shanodin is surely gonna give your eardrums a well needed massage. Placed on the harder side of the colorfull spectrum of Drum and Bass she knows how to make the floors explode all around the Netherlands with her trademark mix of highvoltage floor slamming DnB. Watch her rip up the place once more at Dutch Import. Expect the unexpected and you might be prepared!

Hehe, your welcome also without reading all the backgrounds of the artists...
I thought it would be nice for the people here to have some info about the artists who are going to play at Dutch Import since in the Netherlands these DJs are well known and in Austria ofcourse not or to a lesser extend.
So i thought for the ones interested its nice to see more than just a name on the flyer they maybe not know

Today a scoop about Flavour:
With roots in de metal and dance music Flavours music career started in 2001. Heavy influenced by artists like ‘Atari Teenage Riot’ and ‘The Prodigy’ he became familiar with jungle and drum’n’bass music. He started DJ’ing and soon played at some small events throughout the country. Things went really fast and his performance did not stay unnoticed.
In 2003 he wanted to do something new in the local scene and started his own drum’n’bass night: I B BASS. All events sold out and I B BASS became a well-known concept which is still picked up by other promoters in the city. After one year promoting the I B BASS nights he wanted to do something bigger. From 2004 to 2005 he organized the very unique ‘Dungeons & DJs’ night together with partner Michiel Rook (DJ Druid). Dungeons & DJs is a 3 stage concept with drum’n’bass, breakbeat and breakcore held in the City-Hall in Utrecht. Nowadays he runs the RATED-X nights together with Sander Westerhout (DJ Westrum). RATED-X is a proper club night with national and international DJs. RATED-X is a eclectic and unique concept.
Besides his own gigs Flavour participates in the Utreg Massive crew. Utreg Massive is a Utrecht based drum’n’bass/breakbeat crew. He runs the Utreg Massive party’s, merchandise and website. Besides a bimonthly party in Tivoli de Helling, the Utreg Massive crew have had 2 CD releases, 2 release party’s in Theater Kikker and 2 very successful ‘birthday bash’ party’s in Tivoli, Utrecht. 2007 brings a new series: 'UM Invites', Utreg Massive plays alongside populair non-dnb DJs.
Flavours’ performance is very diverse. He likes to play all styles of drum’n’bass blended with breakcore and hardcore. His sets are full of energy and dance orientated. With a laptop and various midi hardware he delivers a live remix and dj set. Expect heavy beats and basslines with catchy melodies and loads of style and speed switches.

This guy needs no introduction, atleast in the Dutch Drum and Bass scene. Highly energetic and always on the move he moves along al musical genres with lotsa BASS in it! From Dub to Jungle to Ragga to Drum and Bass, Breaks and almost everything inbetween. Doesnt matter where you put him as a promotor. From deep liquid to heavy rollers or just breaking down the venue with some of the really heavy "tear down the place" drum and Bass. He has got it all for you in his magic bag of tricks. Just seeing this DJ and his energetic style behind the decks can make even the most passife persone wanna jump up and shake it down lenny style.

Update:
Dutch Import is proud to announce that Regz is added to the line up at the last moment! Welcom aboard dude!
Here a sniplet from his bio:
I have been listening since '94 to Jungle/ Drum and Bass, got a record for my birthday from friends in '97 (Roni Size - Electric) that started my recordcollection. I started DJing late 2000 and joined the Drum and Breakz crew (now DWA crew) from Rotterdam in 2004 and have been a resident DJ till now. For 2006 I joined another crew from Amsterdam (Break and Enter) as a resident DJ, soon we gonna drop some parties in a location called "Volta", it's 15 minutes walking from Amsterdam Central Station. Now halfway 2006 I'm gonna start a new project with Junglefever and Icon as resident DJ's in Delft, the party is called "FUEL", and on the 6th of october we gonna drop the first one.

Optech has unfortunately cancelled their show at Dutch Import. Hardware trouble has rendered them unable to have a propper set up for this saturday. A real pity but we hope that as posted earlier with Regz we can make it up!
VJ Kratata (23)
A Search to universal forms
She is providing the eye candy for you at Dutch Import. Not really what you would call your basic VJ or moving wallpaper... Make an audio visual trip and make sure you dont tip over into another dimension...
"Constantly in search to universal forms. Natural forms in combination with international forms. In our heads we are dealing with different believes, cultures, rules and principles. But what really happens is that the world is getting plasticized in one chemical substance..."
