Silverstar Sound Info:

Through meeting along their individual journeys and forming friendships, Randy, Gussy and Viper G officially became Silver Star around 1996, aged 15. They started off playing locally, mainly in the North West London area (where they all grew up) at events such as house parties and christenings, their growing popularity meant this soon escalated in more bookings for various other events, especially under 18 raves, as due to their young age they had first hand knowledge of what the party goers wanted.

Their reputation soon preceded them as their versatile styles secured them well-deserved respect from peers and elders alike. This status insured a demand and has surfaced in Silver Stars bookings for supporting top artists including Beenie Man, Sean Paul, TOK, Lexxus, Beres Hammond and many more on their UK tour dates. They have also played alongside some of the worlds top sounds and djs including Stone Love Movements, Tony Matterhorn, Kilamanjaro, Fire Lynx, Mighty Crown and also the UKs very own Heartless Crew, Roll Deep, Rampage, So Solid Crew, Pay As You Go Crew and more.

Silver Star are very popular within their community as they are known for representing, highlighting and promoting new UK based talent onto the Dancehall scene via an ongoing support campaign consisting of mix tapes and CDs, not forgetting their extensive collection of exclusive dub-plates from the UKs established artists as well as the new comers this line up includes; Sweetie Irie, Chukki Starr, Tubby T, Zagu Zarr, Phoebe 1, Smujji, Maxwell D, Heartless Crew, Firefly, Iceman, Suncycle - including: Dolamite, Redman UK, Gappy Ranx, Booji, Skrilla Kidz and more.

Silver Stars popularity is ever increasing they are now playing out at least 3 times a week at venues all over the country including Palace Pavilion, Stratford Rex, Dreams Night Club, Dimensions (Bristol), Penthouse (Hitchin), The Brink, Kokonut Grove, Oceans and Palm Beach. They have played at Summerfest 2001 and 2002 (where due to the success of 01 they headlined for all three nights) and were immediately rebooked for 2003. They also have a weekly residency at Cameos nightclub every Wednesday for a night called Uptown Splurt where they play alongside Robbo Ranx (1Xtra) and Chris Goldfinger (Radio 1).

Silver Star started their weekly radio slot career with shows on Beat FM & Street FM before joining Unique 101.2 FM in 2001, where they had amongst the most listened to shows on the station. They also joined Daddy Ernie on Choice 96.9 & 107.1 FM every Wednesday to update the listeners on the Dancehall scene by supplying a live mix session of all things current.

Since September 2003 Silver Star have their weekly show, Silver Star Presents. on BBCs 1Xtra on Tuesdays midnight till 2am. This show is aired worldwide and has already been extremely successful for the trio.

They present the International Dancehall slot this features international sound systems such as Stone Love, Mighty Crown, Bass Odyssey, Cash Money, Black Chiney, and Love Injection Amongst many more.

Silver Star have now become an international sound system themselves with dates abroad including Sweden, Switzerland and Estonia. They have also recently had their show chosen to featured on BBC radio 1 through radio 1 presents 1xtra, taking them to a potential audience of hundreds of thousands! Known for their fingers being on the pulse of Reggae music, they rarely get it wrong a pleasure to listen to and hype to rave to; they are entertaining in all the right ways! This sound is obviously going from strength to strength for Silver Star there is no limit or capacity to the level of success theyll achieve, its a question of watch this space.
