DEWIENERS ist eine HipHop/Jazz/Funk – Band aus Wien, eine Kombination, die aus den drei Rappern - ScOOp, StePh und Sweat-On - und einer vierköpfigen Jazz/Funk-Combo besteht.

Im Jahr 2000 kamen die Rapper, die alle über musikalische Vorgeschichte verfügen, zusammen, um die Band zu gründen. Roman Salomon a.k.a. ScOOp, der als Sohn des berühmten Jazzmusikers Hans Salomon schon seit frühester Kindheit mit Jazz und Soul in Berührung kam, Stefan Trautsch a.k.a. StePh, der in seiner Jugend Chormitglied der Wiener Sängerknaben war, und Philipp Svaton a.k.a. Sweat-On, der schon in der Volksschule Lehrer und Mitschüler mit virtuosen Blockflöten-Soli zu Freudentänzen verleitete.

Nach ersten Rap-Versuchen auf Instrumental-Platten wurde die Idee geboren den ersten Live-Auftritt mit Saxophon-Begleitung durch Hans Salomon zu ergänzen. Aufgrund eigener Begeisterung und der positiven Resonanz des Publikums setzte man sich daran die Beats von Platte gänzlich durch Musiker zu ersetzen. Voll besetzt spielten sich DeWieners durch diverse Clubs & Locations in ganz Wien.

Inhaltlich befassen sich die Rapper mit selbstreflektiven Themen von Zukunftssorgen über Kritik an der Politik bis hin zu heißen Sommerflirts.

Nachdem man bei etlichen Gigs reichlich Erfahrung gesammelt hatte, war es im Jahr 2003 an der Zeit den ersten Tonträger zu veröffentlichen. „Fastbreak” (CD, Vinyl) (Jive Music, Eigenvertrieb) ist das 10-Track starke Debut-Album, welches gelungen Kompositionen der Musiker mit den deutschsprachigen Raps verschmelzen lässt.

Weitere Live-Auftritte folgten, parallel wurde weiter an neuen Stücken gearbeitet. Hinzu kam die junge Sängerin Ariana, die dank ihrer professionellen Gesangsausbildung einigen Tracks den letzten souligen Schliff verleiht.

Im Moment wird fieberhaft an einem weiteren Album gearbeitet, welches im Frühsommer 2007 released werden soll. Hierfür konnten einige namhafte Producer der Wiener HipHop-Szene (Saiko, Brenk, Cutex. u.a.) gewonnen werden, die den Großteil der Instrumentale beisteuern. Außerdem werden einige bekannte Wiener Rapper und DJs gefeatured. Voraussichtlich wird das Werk 16 funky Tracks umfassen und den lautmalerischen Titel „SPLASH“ tragen.

Established in 1997, out of a necessity for Total Science to have their own imprint and identity in which to not only showcase their own ever increasing catalogue of music, but also for other artists with a similar style and approach, CIA stands tall amongst it’s peers with it’s own defined and ever evolving sound. Over the past ten years, CIA has nurtured classic anthems such as ‘Champion Sound’, ‘Dubplate’, 'Nosher', and contemporary ones such as ‘Ask Not’ and 'Soul Patrol' - 2006's tune of the year. Its sister labels: Advanced, Fix, CIALtd and the recently launched CIA Deep Kut, are further vehicles for the output of a diverse range of D&B music from Total Science and Co.

The path for the Pacheco has always been clear: work hard to achieve goals. Over the past few years Laura has worked at the BBC, Heart FM, Weber Shandwick, Ketchum, Virgin Records, Hospital Records and MPM Records. Her passion has always been music, especially Drum & Bass, Modern Soul and Hip-Hop. At present Miss P works as assistant editor for DogsOnAcid whilst training to be a mortgage advisor and studying for a BA degree in Public Relations. Whilst her main fascination is with the media industry, she loves a song and dance too. After relocating from Birmingham to London, Miss Pacheco found her feet in the D&B industry working for a number of labels namely Hospital Records, Breakbeat Kaos and CIA. Alongside her press dealings she continues to plough on with her singing aspirations by working on several D&B projects with artists: SKC, Bungle, State Of Mind, Total Science, Ayah and Q Project. ..das da oben ist garnicht der flyer - das ist die seite ausm flexprogramm... aber ja - man kann sicherlich sagen dass auch die flyer sich recht ähnlich sehen - ist irgendwie auch beabsichtigt...
