Stakka & Skynet Split
Für die, die es noch nicht wissen!
Stakka & Skynet moved their labels and themselves to Seattle, WA in the summer of 2001. After a year in the states DJ'ing and producing out of their studio, (in the shadow of the Seattle Mariners baseball stadium), they decided that they had taken the labels as far they could together, and with a move planned, they would go their separate ways. Stakka describes "We are both at different points in our lives right now, and although we remain friends, we made a mutual agreement to call it a day with the partnership and pursue our own individual projects. I'm starting Cargo Industries and Skynet, Skynet Recordings". With that ends the Stakka & Skynet recording partnership and the labels Underfire, Audio Blueprint, and Zero G, that they have ran together for the past five years. They have both since moved from Seattle. Stakka describes "We both enjoyed our stay, but from a personal point of view, Seattle was a little bit of a sleepy city and moving somewhere with a bit more of a pulse was more appealing". Stakka has moved and operates out of Brooklyn, NY and Skynet from his hometown Brighton, UK. The last release on Underfire recordings will be a triple pack remix EP featuring four remixes from the Clockwork LP, a Stakka & Skynet remix of ‘Black Monday’ from the DSCI4 LP and a bonus new track called ‘Metalaw’.
