...the history IS the history....
+ Therapy History +
The world renowned “Therapy Session’s” at Herbal in London’s East End is the
hottest midweek monthly hosted by Anger Management. Every Third Wednesday, a
roster of heavy hitters such as Dylan, Technical Itch, Loxy, Ink, Keaton,
Raiden, Bkey, Kryptic Minds, and others from the Anger stable slay an
intimate, eclectic and friendly crowd with the best of dark, fresh and
experimental drum and bass the scene has to offer. The night also hosts
special guests from the UK like Andy C., Bailey, Goldie, Pendulum, Red One,
Storm and Trace as well as international DJ’s such as Concord Dawn,
Counterstrike, Dieselboy, Hive, Mason, John Rolodex and MC’s Armanni, Jakes,
Messinian, Manikular, Stirlin, System and many others!
Upstairs switches between the “Boom Boom” Room with Hip Hop residents Bomb
Squad and Ayah, and the “Electro Trash” Arena every three months with our
special guest star “host with the most” and the guy with hair every girl
wants to caress, John B! Upstairs strikes the perfect balance of styles,
with Bomb Squad spe******ing in Hip Hop of a more party variety, Ayah on a
more leftfield, connoisseur tip with choice cuts from vintage to fresh UK
talent, and Johnny B always gets the booty’s rockin’ to a hot selection of
electroclash and 80’s hits.
Therapy was launched in 2003, after a general feeling that England’s capital
was lacking a bit of the variety that drum and bass had to offer since the
scene became much more international in the past few years. Supporters were
also expressing a need for more events catering to darker and more diverse
sounds. Therapy’s aim was to provide both top UK talent midweek in a
personal and warm atmosphere, as well a showcasing some of the best DJ’s and
MC’s from all corners of the globe, amazing line ups for a very reasonable
price thanks to the generosity and support of the artists, other UK DJ
agencies and labels! Therapy also is streamed live on “Bass Drive”
() every month, infiltrating bedrooms and living rooms
across the continents.
Plans for the future are to simply keep adding something more for our
audiences. To make the experience and the night as enjoyable as possible for
all and keep the music appreciated is the only real purpose. We are working
on spreading the sickness out to Bristol for October 27th on the “floating”
club Thekla (more information will be available soon). Also plans for
weekend parties and sponsors abroad are on the cards.
For now, Anger Management is happy to provide London with a monthly base for
the nastiest, dirtiest dark drum and bass the World has to offer in the most
creative and unique of environments. This is the first time line up’s like
these have been so accessible on a regular basis on a night that feels like
a grouping of close friends! We look forward to seeing you there!
