stakka launches second new label
Having parted ways with Skynet, Stakka duly launched his own outlet, Cargo - a second sister label is now also part of his plans. With Cargo dedicated to Stakka’s own releases and projects he informed us, ‘I won’t be putting out any other artist on Cargo. Tracks from other artists that I’m feeling and am lucky enough to sign, will be coming on the partner label, which is to be announced shortly’.
Sticking to Cargo for the time being, Stakka’s 'Intransit' / 'Junkyard' CARGO002 is out early June.
Other Stakka projects involve 4 more tracks from The Militia to follow their debut Charge EP, ‘Music For The Masses’. Stakka, K. Tee, Friction & Skinny head home for a second 2x 12” pack with a remix of the label’s first release ‘Brainwash’. ‘1999’ is having a video shot that explores CGI animation with a story that follows the post-apocalyptic war zone vibe of the track’s vocal.
CARGO003 – The Militia
Brainwash (remix)
Thrill Seeker
Weight Gain
1999.
Late June.
Cargo4 is pencilled as a collaboration EP or a triple pack effort with work Stakka is completing with US artists. Busy away from the studio, in May he’s starting a new weekly Friday nighter in New York’s West Village. ‘Heavy Duty’ should showcase weekly appearances from US DJing talent on rotation alongside various UK guests.

deep blue and omni trio launch new label :
Deep Blue and Omni Trio [pictured] have today announced that they will be launching a new label, Scale Records. The first release, set to hit the shops on 26th May, will be an album called "All Tomorrow's Food" produced by both artists under the name "Black Rain". Deep Blue told dnbhq.com today that "Rob [Omni Trio] had finished his 5th! album for Moving Shadow and felt it was time to move on, we did one track together “Station to station” (released on Good Looking’s “Studio X” Album) and then decided to work together on an album. We both thought the time was right to set up a label to enable us to do our own thing, any style, no pressure."
The tracklisting for Black Rain is as follows:
01. Another Silent World.
02. Tonight.
03. After Dark (You Need A Friend).
04. Lifecycle.
05. Still Waters.
06. Spiritualize.
07. Uptempo (Strobe Mix).
08. Streamline.
09. Come Home.
10. Subtext.
With two such established names in the drum'n'bass industry, the punters will be expecting big things from Scale Records. When asked about future releases on the album, dnbhq.com was told "solo albums from Deep Blue, Omni Trio, Neil Trix; all types of musical styles and influences".
