why are djs & producers in other szenes so 0LD?
not that i have a problem w/ that, but i think it's odd that when i go to groovetech, theyre pimpin nuff thirtysomethin baldin guys (soon 2 b me!) for breaks, house, trance, psytrance, phytrance, deep house, hard house, deep-hard-against-yr-organs-house, techno etc, they NEVER pimp their dnb broadcasts and a lot of the djs are half the age of the cats elsewhere in the GT studios!
are these manz dumbinated by their music so that they take forever to realize that they want to settle down and produce it and not process insurance claims or change grannies all life?
or do they do more drugs so that they tk forever to see clear of the "fun" and "w00w44 night out" nonsense to what really matters, the SOUN??
or do they start young but have to work 19203189203 yrs cos theyre competin w/ everyone (allowin that everyone wants to be a dj, but dnb is still not THAT big that all want to spin dnb)
or...

probably, but that could also be simply because drum'n'bass and garage are still new. garage appeared even more recently, thus the more youngblood scene.

I've locked myself away and tried. And the thing about garage is: the more you look at it like some tech-boy producer, the less you get it."

wait until the first generation of drum'n'bass peeps grows old. the music of their youth will never be too freaky for them.
i wonder what kids will be listening to by then.

that's what i mean... the ones like goldie started doin dis sick stuff when they were young (or @ least i think)... now as they are - like some might say - grown up, they still spin & do dnb.
some1 around 30 might not find such an easy approach to dnb as let's say some1 around 20... maybe all that computer-producing stuff.
...but that's just an idea.
i'd rather say the style of music one likes or produces does not depend on the age of the person.

yeah, and you have so many young males in the drum'n'bass scene because half of them dream about being cool djs

fette diskussion!!1
@ jay-s et al.: tis new, jeah, i forgott. considerin the vast catalogue put out over the past what, 13-14 years and how much the sound hs changed over them, i often overlook that house, techno, etc hv bn around longer - but i never forget hiphop & reggae/dancehall as our precedents even when their soun is absent from sets/12s
& it cd never be freaky to bukem, goldie, hype etc. look at em
doesnt jdb use sick cuttin edge technology? i mean hiphop studios do not have 2 b kitted out like that, say. might make younger & quicker cats whove bn on the "electronic" tip forever (e.g. equinox of inperspective) more aggressiv in acquirin tech and tryin to push the envelope so zu sagen.
@ baxter - there is no "old" age, i look at mickey finn and say "well hes still feelin it and livin it" so im not worried bt myself, for example. i was just lookin @ groovetech and all these imagefiles of guys who cd almost be my dad and thinkin why the rate of attrition in jungle/dnb is so HIGH...actually. where are so many of the "0ld" gunnaz from days of yore, id argue some are comin back (tango & ratty, mouly but he's not so old right, what the dr. gachet rmx no, help me out here ) out of "other career retirement" but bill riley "is drivin buses??" DO WE LOSE MORE VETZ THAN OTHER SCENES may be a good question----?
and yeah, the hiphop kidz alwayz are young, if u live where they do u see that they only believe the game can save them and the shit of their lives/environments/prospects can be so st4nk that when some are 6 or 7 they realize they musst get out G3T 0UT! - and whats the fastest easiest way to bling chain etc. ??? (can garage be said to be motivated by a similar dynamic?)
and jeah, which man of women here cant say he hopes by being a jungle/dnb artist he may hv improved access to/probability of hotlovin? whoever u squez i tink n0b0dy objects to that...
