just returned from atlanta/usa
!!! aphrodite @ the globe theatre



boooohhhhhh!!!
souverän hat der gute alte aphrodite ein 3 stunden set hingelegt und die breakdancende, freche jugend aus der reserve gelockt!

..natürlich hat romanus auch ein paar plates mitgehen lassen..

die erste zeit hat er durchwegs alte platten von seinen jungle-brothers zeiten gespielt -quasi zum wiederaufbau für das vorher mit schnellen, harten gridlock beats versehene publikum.

er is dann erst warm geworden und hat die etwas problematische anlage in den griff gekriegt (mit dem zuvor abgeschossenen monitorsystem). legte dann neue remixes von den alten, gutbekannten nummern wie "bad ass", "deception", "style from the darkstyle", "cross channel" und mickey finn und und.. auf-

..hat dann eine art medley gespielt in irrsinniger geschwindigkeit die platten gewechselt dannach noch peshay - "u got me burnin", und high contrast sachen, immerwieder durchzogen von sehr bekannt klingenden aphrodite eigenproduktionen.
[von halb 1 bis halb 4]-

die amerikanischen bassheadz sind offenbar im durchschnitt ziemlich jung- so unter und um die 20. die stimmung war ganz gut allerdings sind die amis keine wirklichen langstreckentänzer- bis auf ein paar break-dancende ausnahmen war die menge bewegungsfaul. es gab auch keinen alkoholausschank -nur wasser und energy drinks. -allerdings einige trip-ler und e-ler.

die location war ein altes theater, daß in einem sehr gefährlichen viertel angesiedelt war, wo man am besten mit dem taxi bis vor die tür fährt und sich auch dort wieder abholen lässt. ansonsten 3 floors 1 american-dancefloor-trip-hard-hop, der hauptfloor drum and bass und ein outdoor party-techno-chill out bereich.

war in summe eine interessante, nüchterne erfahrung

uhhhhhhhhh

No schlimmer...stell dir vor die fangen dann an D'n'B da drueben zu produzieren und dann bildet sich dort womoeglich noch eine Szene die uns dann versucht zu dominieren ala Detroit D'n'B ...Urrgggg..scary thought....da geht meine political correctness den Bach hinunter...........no offence...........
