Italy’s One Love High Powa has been the subject of sound clash conversation lately. Ever since their spectacular performance at World Clash 2003, they are now the first contender picked for most clash events. If you’ve been living under a rock for the last six months, then let me bring you up to date.
One Love is the first European sound to ever make it to the final round at The US World Clash. Even though they did not win, the standard they set will be hard for future European contenders to follow. They left such a strong impression on American based clash fanatic that the anticipation to see them compete again is more than evident.
After World Clash 2003 I ran into One Love at Panther’s Birthday Bash in Jamaica. They passed through and gave the country people a little taste of Italian dub slinging. The crowd embraced them well. They received a standing ovation before calling in the next sound. This year One Love will be part of the 2004 UK Cup line up. They will be up against Matterhorn, Mighty Crown and Black Kat. Whatever happens, I know that they will give a good show!
