Photophob
"photophob is a music project without any special aims or
perspectives. i don't know why i actually make music, but i
feel the need to. i don't want to revolutionize any music
genre, i just want to make music i'd also like to listen to.
and most of the time, that's something between ambient and
idm. but could be indierock as well, who knows? i don't.
besides producing my own music, i co-founded the netlabel
laridae in early 2004 together with firnwald, and have been
helping him to keep it alive since then. we support new
talented acts and artists by releasing their music on the
web, focusing on melodic idm/electronica, ambient and
whatever we think is good music."

Winterstrand
Three brothers, risen from the same passionate blood that
now is responsible for each one´s passion for music,
grew up in the southern countryside of nowhere. Soundscapes,
heavy breaks, relaxed (but never loungy) rhythms combined
with a melodic intensity generate a timeless feeling while
getting acoustically irradiated with their unique style of
music. A feeling everyone can relate to his/her childhood.
Besides the influences of early 90ies electronic, folk,
jazz, oldschool hiphop and early jungle, they use loads of
samples from a huge amount of tapes that they recorded
themselves from the mid-80ies to the mid-90ies -
self-referentially to involve personal experiences and
memories they had during their early record-sessions in
their music. Back in those days they created a whole wide
and pretty extraordinary spectrum of sounds with tape
recorders, percussion stuff, radios, keyboards, guitars,
self-made instruments and any other things, as long as they
were cheap, exciting and useful.

tjaaa... nice war das gestern! mir ist es eigentlich nur um photophob gegangen und den hab ich in voller länge genießen können

dann noch ne viertelstunde winterstrand und heimwärts, weil der letzte bus gefahren ist

also a kurzes review von mir:

bin um mitternacht gekommen, sub schon gut gefüllt, zvonko hinterm mixer.. ei di em der härteren gangart.. schöne flächen, melancholische sounds und fetzende cut-up breakz.. war echt fett und die leute fleissig am tanzen.. also scheinbar ist der zvonki den erwartungen gerecht geworden.. fettes set!

dann photophob live.. war dann etwas "langsamer" als zvonko, aber wunderschöne sounds.. eher mehr zum zuhören als zum tanzen, aber dennoch war der floor weiterhin gefüllt und nicht wenige auch hier am shaken..

winterstrand kamen danach und die stainzer brüder haben dann den dancefloor wieder etwas mehr belebt.. von den sounds her war es mir teilweise zu schön (ich steh da mehr auf melancholisches), aber das haben die geilen dreckigen beatmuster wieder wettgemacht.,. war ein super set, eine gute steigerung nach photophob.. der schweisspegel am dancefloor ist deutlich gestiegen..

dann ab 0300 ca. kam mr. cheever dann... kam, sah und schwitzte, denn sein set brachte den dancefloor dann mit geraden beats zum überkochen.. hands in the air und laute schreie zeichneten den weg.. vom timing her hat das ideal gepasst, denn die menge (und im sub wars wirklich voll!) wollte nach all den zerhackten beats wohl endlich mal wieder was gerades, und dankten es dem veteran hinter den turntables..

war echt eine gelungene party.. zwischen hohem musikalischen anspruch und "dancefloortauglichkeit as dancefloortauglichkeit can"..

und eines muss ich auch noch anmerken: an diesem abend hat man aussschliesslich akteure hinter den reglern vorgefunden, die wirklich mit ganzem herzen bei der sache waren,.. wer auf mimik und gestik bei DJs und Liveacts geachtet hat, konnte sehen, dass hier alles gepasst hat.. fantastisch!!

...das hat man davon, wenn man den ganzen Nachmittag schlaeft um nicht lernen zu muessen und einen am Abend dann das schlechte Gewissen packt und man dann doch das Zimmer nicht mehr verlaesst
