quote: Speaker Wrath Bio:
In recent times there has been an evil that lay dormant in the conservative suburbs of Brisbane, Australia. What can only be described as a 'sleeper cell' for intelligently-cut raw breakbeats, tearing basslines and layers of unique atmospheres and piercing synths, has only begun to awaken and press its influence not just locally but abroad. In this cell, three hardline fanatics have come together with the single purpose of terrorizing sound systems globally. These three souls operate under the identity of 'Speaker Wrath'.
What does not remain hidden however, is that Speaker Wrath (Jordan King, Dave Spiers and Steve Fletcher) all share a creative vision of a darker, post apocalyptic world in which their music is the soundtrack to life and death. Their influences stem from all parts of the globe and all sounds in music, from The Deftones and The Prodigy, to Technical Itch and Incubus, and all the way through to Miles Davis.
Having grown up together and drifting from style to style in both listening and playing music, Jordan and Dave formed Speaker Wrath in December 2000 and began their journey deeper into Drum and Bass. In March 2005, after breaking away from Melbourne, Speaker Wrath gained its third member in Steve Fletcher and begun to fully explore their soundscapes and their production talents. What they found was an ability to produce these intense phonic qualities that are delivered with dancefloor orientated grooves and smart musicality.
As Speaker Wrath begin to discover what they are capable of, others in the Drum and Bass scene begin to ally themselves with the rising juggernaut. Word has spread overseas, to USA's demonic breakbeat exponent Enduser, who has already remixed Speaker Wrath's "Choke" as a part of his latest album on Hymen Recordings. Speaker Wrath have also recently completed a remix of legendary Dutch darkstyle producer DJ Hidden, giving his track "The First Evil" the 'Speaker Wrath treatment' with DJ Hidden also remixing the Speaker Wrath tune "Apocalypse". Also forthcoming on Paul Blackout's Hardline Recordingz in 2006 is Speaker Wrath's "Broke" and "Mindjack" (HLINE017).
So far Speaker Wrath's reputation has landed them support gig's for the biggest Drum and Bass internationals in Brisbane, including Calyx, Noisia, Evol Intent, Dom & Roland, and Chris SU & SKC. Together and independently Speaker Wrath has been killing underground club nights in Brisbane and Melbourne as both guests and hosts of drum'n'bass parties such as Rukus, Rogue Element, Post Traumatic Amnesiacs, Krachmacher, Rude Bwoys, Hard Graft & High Grade.
As the dawn of a new era approaches, Speaker Wrath are leading from the front with a raw representation of their music and a sound that is uncompromising for no-one. Doubt no longer exists. Speaker Wrath is here to push the envelope of dark Drum and Bass. Time is on their side as they fine tune their weapons of sonic destruction, spawning a sound ready to be unleashed without notice, and without mercy.

Typecell Bio:
Guido Hoppe a/k/a Typecell is a Drum N Bass Producer and DJ from Kassel/Hessen - Germany. Having bought his first set of turntables and a mixer at the age of 14 and practicing with the sounds of hip-hop to acid house, settling with techno as his choice, came the birth of DJ P.M.C. By 1996 his talent was cultivated to producing with his first official release being distributed with his self-made record label "Genetic Rhythm Records" (success came with the publication of the 3rd Genetic Rhythm Records release - DJ P.M.C - Planet Attack EP, including Subplate, Distortion 2 Static.), followed by more releases on such labels as "Bonzai Records / N.E.W.S", "Red Alert", "Thunderdom", "House Nation" as well as many others. The name DJ P.M.C. became well known abroad which lead to an international tour.
By 1998 DJ P.M.C.'s interests were moving more toward the break beats (DNB) after he listened to Makai's Stealth album. His decision to stop making techno sounds as well as closing the label Genetic Rhythm Records was made to concentrate on his creation of fresh "technoid" Drum N Bass. In 1999, he created the new moniker Typecell in order to produce his more experimental tracks by fusing Techno and Drum N Bass. His reputation was built in the underground scene by utilizing a series of mix tapes and numerous innovative releases on vinyl, cd's and mp3. By 2002 his record label "Protogen Records" was born targeting a more "forward thinking", club-friendly DNB sound. Since it's inception, Typecell has received a great level of resonance and support from many well-known, respected Drum N Bass, as well as Techno, artists worldwide. Towards the end of 2002, Typecell started a new project with the main focus of high quality DJ Mix sets for free, courtesy of In 2004, Subplate Recordings was added to the Protogen camp as a sub label for his electronic, downbeat project. Thankfully, with the global respect from artists and fans alike, the message is clear for this Drum N Bass Producer, the future is definitely here for more international DJ gigs and releases on vinyl, CD, mp3!
