ABOUT 60 MINITS OF FUNK:

60 minits of funk is a collective of creative, laid-back musicians, already well-known in the viennese music scene. The passion for live performances and improvised edgy live sessions resulted in a new imprint of the typical funk sessions. Make it 40, 60 or 80 minits of funk – the fusion of future boogie, turntablism, funk and jazz makes every concert a unique ‘groove-edge’ experience. The rhythmical backbone are the ‘Twintowas’ aka Daniel & Fabian Schreiber, two excellent drum & bass players, beatmakers and musicians, also part of the ‘Waxolutionists live band’ and 66% of Austrias finest broken beat imprint ‘CiRCUS’.

With Stoney the Flute, ‘60minits’ present their charming pro-soloist numero uno, playing in various bands and projects for years, travelling around the world and spreading jazzflute vibes allover. Currently working with ‘Madrid de los Austria’ (Sunshine), ‘Bujaka live’ and‘Viena Loco’. The keysection is well staffed with BiONiCKiD, vienna’s bird of paradise, if it comes to musical styles and sources. always on the go, he is part of the Viennese nu-jazz band ‘Forms of Plasticity’, taking care of music and managment of the infamous ’Waxolutionists’ and ‘CiRCUS’, well known as BNCKD, he plays minimal and electrohouse sessions as well as organizing events in Vienna since 1999. Johannes Specht is the man behind the guitar, jazz & funk expert per excellence and member of plenty projects like ‘Forms of Plasticity’, ‘Ordinary World’, ‘Lonely Rita’ and many others. The freelance musician is currently living in Los Angeles.

Untypical for jazz outfits is the turntable section, well waxolutionists & co took care of this missing link since ages. Chris Fader is the man behind the decks, part of the tyrolean Dj Team ‘Ghostbusters’, ITF austrian champion. He´s a rare, musically engaged turntable artist, living in vienna and playing with 60minits since 2007. With Dj Zuzee (Waxolutionists, Drechsler), Davoodi, L énfant terrible, MC Manuva (Supercitysoundsystem), Dj Buzz (Waxos) and lots of other guest musicians, the project keeps lively and convertible. An Adventure indeed. Vienna meets Detroit, Philly and Stockholm.

das klingt wieder mal nach ner party mit richtig guter musik, und zwar ohne mich...denn ich darf am nächsten morgen um 9 arbeiten..

schade...aber das nächste fette leopold-quality-booking kommt bestimmt

viel spass denjenigen die sich das ansehen bw. anhören können.

ABOUT J STAR & MC HONEY BROWN:

Ob er im Studio steht oder hinter den Turntables – der britische DJ und Produzent J-Star bleibt stets ein cooler Hund, für den musikalische Schubladen nicht existieren. Seine lässigen Mixe stehen auf einer solide groovenden Basis aus Reggae-Instrumentals und Hip Hop-Acappellas und bedienen sich bei Soul und Ska ebenso wie bei Dub und Drum’n’Bass. Zu den Fans von J-Star gehören DJ-Ikonen wie Grandmaster Flash und Norman Jay, und die Liste seiner Remixe liest sich noch illustrer. Zu den Leuten, die sich bereits Tracks von ihm veredeln ließen, gehören DJ Vadim, Black Grass und Ms Dynamite.
Doch der Mann steht nicht allein für schweißtreibende Partynächte – er macht seinen Job stets mit einem Augenzwinkern und verbreitet gute Laune. Das überträgt sich natürlich auch auf die Crowd, die seine entspannten und dabei treibenden Sets zu schätzen weiß. Kongeniale Unterstützung bekommt J-Star von MC Honey Brown, der schon seit Anfang der 80er in der Londoner Hip Hop-Szene aktiv ist. Er war u.a. Mitglied bei der Breakdance-Crew „Live to Break“ und konnte den Freestyle Contest „Rap Amnesty“ 1991 für sich entscheiden. In den letzten Jahren war Honey Brown vor allem als Freestyle-MC in ganz Europa unterwegs, doch das reicht ihm noch nicht: demnächst erscheint seine EP.
