Marcus Wagner-Lapierre aka MAKOSSA
... is like the \"godfather\" of the Viennese Dj culture. He started spinning in the early 80ies and became head of music for Austria's famous and nationwide independent radio station FM4 in 1995. Makossa has influenced and animated thousands of music lovers in and around Austria and is known for his wide range of musical knowledge and taste. His legendary Saturday night show \"Swound Sound System\" with Mc Sugar B specializes in deep, dope, dubby & dirty funky, afro, cosmic influenced electronica and has been running for more than 13 years now.
Makossa has compiled over 20 successful compilations in the last ten years. (Fm4's Soundselections, Sunny Side Up, Dub Club,…) After a few remixes & productions for/with Uptight, Sofa Surfers & Peter Kruder in the mid 90ies, he finally teamed up with long-time friend Megablast.
SASCHA WEISZ aka MEGABLAST (Luv Lite/G-Stone)
Sascha Weisz aka Megablast is a producer and DJ from Vienna. Starting in the young Viennese Hip Hop scene of the 90s on the one hand. (Winner of the \"Dope Beats Freestyle Contest\" hosted by Demon Flowers and DJ Dsl) he also enjoyed the House and Tech sound.
\"I was too young for the official clubs that played Acid House and Techno, but I bought these wicked records and enjoyed at least the illegal parties which were great\".
Influenced by Dope Beats, House, Drum and Bass, Dub and Techno, Megablast finally concentrate on the development of his own, individual sound and style. He has released and remixed for the likes of G-Stone, K7!, Stereo Deluxe, Afroart, Klein and Pulver.
UWE WALKNER (Simple Rec.)
...began his dj career in 1995, in 1997 he began producing with Karl Moestl. Their first Drum & Bass influenced productions as Bluish appeared on the Austrian \"Sabotage\" imprint. Walkner.Moestls first release on G-Stone \"Bluish\" established their mark as producers of deep broken beats. Their second EP \"Heaven Or Hell\" gathered praise and fans across Europe, the UK and Australia. In 2002 they parted from G-Stone to develop their many production projects. He now produces with the amazing percussionist Frederic Hintenaus for UK imprint Simple Rec. He dj..s across Europe at nights including Fabric London, Flex Vienna, Solways & Vibrant Linz, Melkeweg Amsterdam, Maria Berlin, Dampfzentrale Bern and many more... his wide ranging influences from Hip Hop, Funk & Dub to Electro and Breakbeat, combined with his natural flair for mixing have enabled him to develop a style of his own...fusing tracks and grooves from all genres and tempos into a fluid dancefloor groove. atmospheric breakdowns. Never expect exclusively a \"greatest hits\" selection, because she is spinning a lot of more diverse nasty breakz with
some complex beatz in it. Her mixing is fast, and tight. She has established herself as one of Austria's most booked drum'n'bass-djs, and definitely as Austria's first lady of drum&bass. Her current favourite labels are Human, Project 51, Subtitles, Metalheadz, Cargo, Signal, Cymbalism etc.
