Knowledge Magazin wird zum Online-Magazin!

To be honest I'd like to continue doing the magazine but when you look at what we put in terms of time and money and what we're getting out now it just doesn't add up any more. A lot of spe******t magazines have been doing this recently and it's going to continue. When we started Knowledge back in 1994 we were one of the only information sources but with the internet most people get their information online and that's where we need to be now.

On the new site we will have regularly updated features / interviews and news like we currently have in the magazine but also extensive blogs written by our current team of journalists. We aim to have the wide range of blogs – each of the main genres we cover (drum & bass, dubstep, hip hop, electronica and breakbeat) will have their own individual blogs as will non-music topics like music technology, gadgets & games, fashion and art. There will be regular video features and interviews too.

The magazine’s extensive back issues will be available to view as digital publications and old cover CDs will also be available to download. Our popular cover CDs will continue but as podcasts. Users will be able to comment and rate as much of the site as possible. Users will need to become a member to contribute but membership will be free as will all the content.

The final copy of the Knowledge will be published on June 12th and it’s going to be a special collector’s issue celebrating their past and looking forward to the future. We're going to make it extra special, a bit like how we did with our 100th issue last year and our tenth anniversary edition. We won’t have any regulars like news, reviews or listings, just lots of long features that fit the brief 'looking back' and / or 'looking forward'.

muss zugeben, dass ich nicht so der regelmäßige knowledge leser war, aber schade zu sehen wie ein magazin nach dem anderen aufhört.

in 20 jahren gibts dann warsch. gar nichts gedrucktes mehr, dafür hat aber jeder ein modem direkt ins hirn gepflanzt...
