mathematics news - jan'03
Happy New Year! Yeah we know it’s already practically the end of January
but that’s just how we do here at Mathematics.
Before we get knee-deep in all the latest news from us, we just wanted
to thank everyone who supported Mathematics and making 2002 such a
wicked year for us. It was only back in March of last year that we made
our debut with “Feelin” on Hospital Records’ Plastic Surgery 3
compilation, and since then, we’ve signed over 20 tunes (!), witnessed
our heroes play our music in both clubs and on the radio and dj’ed all
over the US, at Movement and Hospitality in London, and in Europe as
well.
Despite the fact that World War 3 seems on the not-so-distant horizon,
we’re really looking forward to 2003. And since it’s cold as f*ck here
in NYC at the moment, we’ve been holed up in the studio working on loads
of new music in preparation for our European Tour next month (details
below), including our debut gig at the infamous The End club in London
for LTJ Bukem’s Progression Sessions.
As our tribute to Bukem and the sound he *******ed, we’ve done a remix
of The Invisible Man’s classic “The Bell Tune” which will be appearing
on Good Looking’s 12-year retrospective album due out later this year.
And if that wasn’t enough, we just linked up with the Expansion Team, a
commercial music house that will be representing our music for
television shows, commercials and films. We’ve recently done an original
piece of music for a Comedy Central commercial that will be one of about
six similar spots airing on the hour, every hour for the next couple of
years. VH-1 will also be using a slew of our previously released music
in a brand new show called “Totally Tricked-Out Rides.”
