UnitOvOne Recordings return with it’s third installment of The Grey Sessions with two new songs for your ear canals. “Machine” by two St. Louis local favorites, Cold Fusion and Jamie D., takes us back with some classic tech step that has a distinct sound from the days of late 90's drum & bass. UnitOvOne is also pleased to announce our first international artist, Fuj, hailing from Australia. Fuj provides some nice diversity with “Trouble In Paradise” and brings to the discog a nice minimal tune filled with top shelf break edits, and haunting synth work. Mastered by Intellectual Mastering, and distribution via Juno, Addictech, iTunes, and others, The Grey Sessions 003 promises to deliver for the dance floor as well as the true studio heads.
COLD FUSION & JAMIE D
Cold Fusion has maintained a strong residency for NeuroTech, Classic Tech Step, as well as playing drums for various hardcore and rock bands in the midwest region. Jamie D. is known around the midwest region as one of St. Louis’s longest running drum & bass dj’s deeply rooted in pre-drum & bass era breakbeat hardcore, old school jungle, ragga, as well as the most current trends of drum & bass today. Together Cold Fusion and Jamie D. make a force to be reckoned with, with their focus on reviving and refreshing the sounds of classic tech influenced d&b.
FUJ
Takeshi ‘Fuj’ Fujimura started producing in 2008 after years of listening and raving to drum & bass. His initial foray into music was playing the guitar during the glory days of metal. Not long after shedding the long hair he discovered an affection for the syncopated beats of drum & bass/jungle, in particular the iconic sounds of Roni Size/Reprazent and Ganja Kru. The love of all things ‘breaks’ evolved even further whilst living in Canada, working in record shops and setting up raves in the Vancouver scene. After a brief stint of living the domestic picket fenced ideals of suburbia in Sydney, the drive to break some beats of his own was too strong to ignore. Focusing on all styles of drum and bass, Fuj aims to blend various styles from all genres to create an eclectic mix of future drum & bass.
