ALARM Mindscape - Ultrasonik / Epidemic [Nasca]

Mindscape
A. Mindscape – Ultrasonik
B. Mindscape & Sleeper Cell – Epidemic

Label: Nasca Records
Cat #: NASCA010
Format: 12” Vinyl & Download
Released: 19th August 2011

Fresh off the back of their epic ‘Shipwrecked EP’, one of Austria’s most exciting Drum and Bass labels now unleash a earth-shattering twelve-inch from Mindscape. Hailing from Hungary, Mindscape’s unique sound has already led to releases on influential labels including Klute’s Commercial Suicide and Teebee’s Subtitles. Boasting a release CV that includes collaborations with Jade, BTK and Chris Su, amongst others, Mindscape has become a veteran of the darker side of DnB, ever since their first release in 2003.

Sporting the upbeat, dancefloor friendly ‘Ultrasonic’ and the deadly ‘Epidemic’ on the flip, this diverse EP sees Mindscape bring their undisputable class to one of the most exciting labels in the industry – a frightening combination.

‘ULTRASONIK’
A track aimed specifically at the dancefloor, ‘Ultrasonik’ gets pulses racing from the very beginning. After an introduction that features churning synth and feel good vocals, Mindscape combines a unique drumbeat with groovy synths to create one of the catchiest tracks this year. Featuring a disco-like groove and a beat you can’t help but nod to, ‘Ultrasonik’ and its pulsing bass-line is coming to move a dancefloor near you.

‘EPIDEMIC’
A joint effort with Sleeper Cell, ‘Epidemic’ transports the listener to a much meaner, moodier place. Kicking off with menacing synths and screams of despair, Epidemic builds into a bass driven juggernaut. Featuring one of the most disturbing bass sounds in recent memory and a truly unsettling atmosphere, this filthy track has all the hallmarks of yet another big, bad Mindscape banger.
