another triumph for uk garage

dizzee rascal wins the mercury music prize:


und das ist gut so.

wie bei ms dynamite, die letztes jahr gewonnen hat, ist dizzees album nicht wirklich garage, es gibt dort unterschiedlichste musikrichtungen, von garage zu hip hop (wobei ms dynamites album eigentlich gar keine garage tracks hatte, sie hat aber auch nach ihrem album garage singles gemacht und ihr garage album "a little darker" sollte auch bald kommen). das ist auch gut. es ist auch deswegen gut, weil garage puristen, die dizzees (und ms dynamites) style (grime garage aka sublow) verachten, jetzt anerkennen müssen, dass auch grime gute musik ist (eigentlich die innovativste musik atm, obwohl oft sehr simpel).

...wie kann man objektiv sagen ob eine musikrichtung/ein track gut ist oder nicht?

ist doch irgendwie geschmackssache was gut und was nicht gut ist!

man kann sagen grime ist innovativ oder undergroundig oder was auch immer, man kann sagen, dass dj ötzi cheap und einfallslos ist, aber gut ist doch ein subjektives empfinden - oder täusch ich mich da?

ich find dizee zb schlecht, egal ob er den preis gewonnen hat oder den nobelpreis für experimentelle physik - mir gefällt es einfach nicht!

"street beatz" klingt viel versprechend, aber gehört habe ich die compilation noch nicht. wichtig bei solchen compilations sind mcs, weil grime für mcs und live vocalists gemacht wird. "street beatz" wird's vermutlich bald im bounce geben.

in london gab es vor einigen monaten noch "rhyme and grime" compilation, aber mehr kann ich darüber nicht sagen. "garage rap" ist zwar immer noch kein grime, aber dort findet man die meisten tracks, die grime inspiriert haben. wird man aber in wien kaum noch finden, denke ich.

Es gibt mmn keine objektive Beurteilung einer Musikrichtung, da bei jeder sein eigenes Gefühl mit im Spiel ist und somit nur subjektiv sein kann. warum? WEIL MAN MUSIK FÜHLT ODER NICHT UND AUS!

naja, ansonsten bin ich ja auch der meinung daß du dir die ein oder andere kategorisierung, bzw. den ein oder anderen hinweis auf "verschiedene szenen in uk" sparen könntest, weil wir halt da in at und nicht in uk sind, und hier gibts halt keine 5 versch. garage/break/2step/irgendwas szenen die sich teilweise überhaupt nicht mögen sondern im kern eine handvoll leute die sich mehr dafür interessieren und sowas auflegen und ob da jetzt der eine garage oder breaks auflegt is den leuten die nicht zu dieser handvoll zählen, also "uns" im sinne von den leuten hier am board ziemlich bis sehr egal
aber, du hast damit ja eh schon aufgehört, und ich glaub nicht daß dich irgendjemand beleidigen will, wenn er von dir als "meister der schublade" spricht, is halt so eine art running gag......
