 soca!
es wird nach jahren endlich zeit für einen appreciation thread! vor ca. 2 jahren hab ich zum 1. mal einen soca tune gehört, und seitdem lassen mich diese beats einfach nicht in ruhe. jede woche nach intabeats gibts auf 1xtra 'the international sounds of soca' - einfach unpackbar! es gibt glaub ich keine musikrichtung, die soviel lebensfreude und rhythmus vermittelt, wie diese.
hab schon geglaubt, ich wär der einzige in meinem umfeld, der so drauf steht; bis ich grad vorher erfahren hab, dass mr. xenus meine leidenschaft teilt  (wenn ich mich nicht irre, hat auch mat professor (oder cuse?) am alten board seine liebe dafür kundgetan).
xenus ist was geniales eingefallen, und zwar ein eigener soca floor auf parties (wenns schon ragga, noise, techno usw gibt, warum nicht auch soca?). problem: hat jemand soca platten bzw. kann man in wien/ö welche kaufen?
anyway, appreciate the soca sound!

soca is superfein... es war mat, der am alten board seine liebe dafür kundgetan hat und man kann auch in wien socaplatten kaufen...  im blackmarket habens, als ich noch in plattengeschäfte investiert hab - bis so ca. vor 'nem jahr - zumindest socacompilations gehabt... gekauft hab ich mir aber nie eine... nur ein paar CDs...  - ray cobe allstars is mein fav...
btw. es gibt in wien auch sicherlich ein paar plattenverleger, bzw. djs, die soca spielen; gab da mal 'nen dj namens blacksheep - ältere generation - der meist soca gespielt hat... soca-floor wär nice, ausflug zum carneval nach trinidad ein muss...

...und ein ausflug nach trinidad - uiuiuiui - echt ein traumhaftes plätzchen erde dort - ein paar carib beer ("the beer of carnival" - lol) und geht schon!!! ...und wies dort am carneval (2004: February 23 & 24)

na sicha gibts soca platten in wien leutz.....
und zwar zu kaufen...sowie auch dancehall/reggae/hiphop/usw...
DJ blacksheep ist vielleicht noch aktiv, seine seite ist jedenfalls , dort gibts auch einige mixes zum anhören
soca auflegen tun inzwischen schon einige österreischiche reggae-sounds...so als show-einlage. ich persönlich finde soca zwar nice aber oft zu eintönig, und ich weiss nicht ob das so wirklich auf einer party in wien klappen würde - zumindest hab ich schon ein paar mal miterlebt das es floppt und sich der dancefloor leert...also ne ganze nacht soca? da braucht man ein paar trinis die tanzen sonst könnts schwierig werden...
mein tip: traut euch soca tunes beim reggae-dj zu requesten..es gibt einige die "equipped" sind

hab mir mal die do's und dont's während des carnevals auf der visittnt.com seite durchgschaut... ist ja der hammer!

...und was du gequoted hast sind do s and don t s wenn du bei ner mas mitmachst - mas sind die typen und mädels, die sich verkleiden und tanzen, die nehmen auch touristen für ein wenig geld auf - ist aber wahrscheinlich ziemlich anstrengend wennst den ganzen tag mitlaufen und tanzen musst, die ziehen nämlich den ganzen tag durch die city, bis sie dann in svannah an den judges vorbeilaufen - ist alles ein bissi so wie in rio, da kannst ja auch bei einer sambaschule mitanzen...

ich mach mir da keine sorgen mehr,
soca is the übernextbestthing
texta haben gestern einen soca tune im programm gehabt und der ging eindeutig am besten ab,
und da texta auch die erste wirklich bekannte at crew mit eigenem dancehallstuff war, seh ich das als zeichen,
und den leuten gestern hats auch getaugt, also keine angst wegen der akzeptanz
