ALARM Infos

The Panacea emerged in 1996 with his massive full-length "Low Profile Darkness" - a landmark debut that smashed headfirst into Drum&Bass by musically invigorating and unifying movements that artists such as Alec Empire (DHR) and Ed Rush & Nico (No U-Turn) had lead in developing. Massive interest by the press followed, hyping the controversial musician. The leading member of the "Position Chrome" collective, Panacea has gone on to release over 23 EPs and 5 LPs. "Low Profile Darkness" was followed by "Twisted Designs" using a more technoid sound. It was licensed to "Industrial Strength" in the USA, the prolific label run by hardcore-godfather Lenny Dee. Due to the sucess of the record Panacea started touring in the states, where he found an audience obsessed with his sound. Returning to germany he then finished "Phoenix Metabolism" - an album very much influenced by hiphop culture. "German Engineering" - released in 2000 follows after one of Panacea's most ambitious years ever while "Underground Superstardom" in 2002 sums up the metamorphosis of the eccentric and extraordinary artist and introducing collaborations with New York based female "DJ Siren" and close friend "Dose D" - a superb Berlin Drum&Bass DJ. Also the video for the single "The Evil Seed" released with the LP, causes quite some irritation using the talents of actress Nora Tschirner who is in germany well known for being an MTV-VJ and a soapstar! Further credits include the critically acclaimed "Architettura" installment on the US label "Caipirinha" as well as releases under the minimalist guise M2 on Mille Plateaux, leading industrial label Ant-Zen and Hands Recordings which is home to industrial-legends "Winterkälte", his collaborative project Disorder 2nd Gen with fellow Position Chrome artist Problem Child and the superb 12" double pack release, followed in 2003 by the full-lenght CD "Hardcore owes us Money" under The Redeemer moniker with Ambush Recordings DJ Scud. Furthermore Panacea released records as "Rich Kid" on the Berlin based label "Ad Noizeam" - DJ Scud's legendary "Ambush" imprint and again Ant-Zen. A great deal of work and passion in 2002 went into his debut as composer for "Fatal Attractions" - a radical modern-dance theater by Christoph Winkler, internationally acclaimed choreograph. Debuting in Berlin it chaught the attention of the "Goethe- Institute", for which Winkler produced "Hinter den Linien" in 2003 using the talents of Panacea again who found just another way of making his work more prolific. Further into 2003 he started collaborating with one of his heroes of old "Luna-C", the notorious UK-Producer who entered the british charts in '91 with his massive hit "Sesame Street". The hardcore-hero then founded "Kniteforce", a label well-know to those who followed the history of hardcore/jungle in England, where Panacea released three 12" and various tracks on their compilations. He also remixed artists like Belladonna Killz, Canada's most exciting new talent and Luna-C himself. After a namechange The Panacea teamed up with the Offkey crew in late 2005 and will go on working closely together with Raiden in 2006 and 2007. One of the hardest working and varied musicians in the world, The Panacea succeeds again and again with his furious Drum&Bass!

ALARM Infos

Noisia (the word "Vision" rotated 180 degrees) consists of three guys: Nik Roos (21), Martijn van Sonderen (20) and Thijs de Vlieger (22) from Groningen in Holland. Acquainted through the small graffiti community in the school they all went to, Nik and Thijs made friends in 1998 and started making music to kill time and have a laugh. Soon after their first confrontation with Drum&Bass, they started digging into it, and gradually making music just for fun evolved into a serious obsession to make good Drum&Bass. After a few fruitful collaborations with Martijn, who had been in music (Hip-Hop production / classical piano) for quite a while before he hooked up with Nik and Thijs, Martijn was added to the Noisia team.
After a while the internet was discovered as a great way to acquire knowledge and to get feedback on productions. Also the first Noisia tune that received interest from a real label (Mayhem's Shadow-Law Recordings) was found on a production message board, this interest was a big motivation to get the tunes to sound better. An investment in studio-equipment and a dedication to sound design, mixdown and arrangement got things moving, and february 2003 saw the birth of the tune that was going to be the first released Noisia tune: "Tomahawk" by Noisia & Mayhem on Paul Reset's "Nerve" imprint. The flip of that was "Silicon" written in the hangover-days after Mayhem's short but fruitful stay. Silicon/Tomahawk was released in august 2003, and after that things gradually started rolling.
Right now Noisia have got releases out and forthcoming on well-known labels such as Teebee's Subtitles and Rob Playford's Moving Shadow (who have also licensed two Noisia tunes to Rockstar's "Midnight Club 3"), And they've collaborated with well-known Drum&Bass artists like Cause 4 Concern, Calyx, Teebee, Black Sun Empire and Bad Company. Also, Renegade Hardware were releasing a Noisia remix of the well known "Messiah" by the infamous duo Konflict on the Renegade Hardware Guerilla Warfare LP.
As DJs Noisia have touched down in every major dutch city, in Moscow, Budapest, Paris, London, Vienna and USA, amongst others. Also july 2004 saw the first Noisia USA/Canada tour.
Besides Drum&Bass Nik, Martijn and Thijs also have other musical projects, they have another Drum&Bass alias (Drifter) for more mellow and soulful music that doesn't fit the Noisia sound, with releases forthcoming on Metalheadz, Shogun Audio and Horizons Music. They make breakbeat tunes under the name "Hustle Athletics". Also a downtempo album is in the making, they have done music for (short) films and there are a couple of releases of house productions/remixes planned!

ALARM Infos

Raiden a.k.a. Chris Jarman has a background in music that combines tonal savagery and intricate grooves; his first public outings in the world of music were fronting a hardcore band in 1994. Always a man on the look-out for new ideas, someone played him some No U-turn tunes in 1997, and suddenly everything changed, the bass was exchanged for the complex depths of Logic Audio, and the sound that defines him began to coalesce.
A year of careful listening and research, a small tour of German squat-party venues, and then in '98, he leapt straight into the relentless production schedule that is another one of his trademarks. Getting DJ slots by playing Drum&Bass sets at open-minded techno nights, he found he loved the timbres of techno, but couldnt shake his passion for a rolling break and conveyor belt basslines. He resolved to meld the two into a sound that growls like a crack-crazed pitbull, before sinking in it's teeth with a grip that locks on and never lets go.
He studied at the I.M.T. in London for a year, and this led to a work placement at Airtight Studios, where he met Nu:Balance and DJ Friction, and began writing tunes for their label Transparent. The first of these was hugely sucessful "Cenobyte EP" featuring the crushing "Bulldoze". Released at the end of 2002 and played by such luminaries as Trace, Bad Company, Kemal, Keaton, Technical Itch, Mampi Swift, Friction and Usual Suspects.
Renegade Hardware approached Raiden in mid 2002. His debut release "Fallin" became a massive tune, being voted high in the best tune awards of 2002 by Muzik Magazine. "Fallin" was also featured on the cover CD of November 2002 Mixmag, which lead to wider exposure and more media attension. More epic cuts were planned for 2003, including "All Out War". Followed by his debut Renegade Hardware EP featuring "Infection", "6ft Ditch", "Falling (Friction & Nu:Balance RMX)" and "React". "Pigalle" feat. Flow, and "Pitbull Attack" / "Mindboming" as the launch release for TOV's label Barcode as well as "Pinball" and a relentless remix of his own "Bulldoze" on Transparent. All recieving much support from some of the scenes biggest guns. He also launched is own label Off-Key recording to hoost his extremist brand of techno tinged funk.
This has resulted in Raiden being booked for DJ sets as far afield as the USA, South Africa, Israel, Japan, France, Beligum, Holland, Norway, Austria, Germany as well as many critically aclaimed club nights in London such as "Clash Of The Titans" and Anger Mangment's "Therapy Sessions". He is also a resident at the legendary Renegade Hardware nights at the world renouned End club in Central London, this is where Raiden first discovered the love for twisted basslines and frantic beats. Many people regard the End as spirtual home of Drum&BAss, in the same way that Detroit is to Techno. Raidens ideal is progressive music with a beginning, middle and end, but retaining the Off-Key hooks, the ability to shock. The end result sounds a little (but not quite) like Axis remixing No U-Turn (or vice versa); heavy rolling tech-step breaks, vicious synth head noises, and basslines that you could mistake for seismic events. His ascent though the scene has been an unprecedented success, this rise is far from over, you have been warned!

ALARM Infos

"The Sultan Of Sickness" - Dylan needs no introduction when it comes to Drum&Bass. The past few years have seen this top DJ and Producer go from absolute strength to strength, not only producing consistently, but consistently good; proving him to be, without a doubt, one of the hottest talents in the scene.
Dylan began back in the Electro era buying records and mixing them up on a couple of budget turntables. He then followed the music and studied all the different genres, evolving from Electro to Hip-Hop to House and finally, his life: Drum&Bass! Taking the obvious first step, Dylan played on the London pirate radio scene with long time friend B-Key for many years. His shows were legendary, with exclusive track selections and plenty of added humour to keep the listeners entertained (Dylan is definitely known as the prankster to his friends). Dylan decided to turn his twisted mind to the production side of things, scraping the money together for his first studio set up, and started to master the sampler and computer with B-Key. They would spend every hour possible getting to grips with the equipment, and soon had some tracks complete - which they played to Danny Breaks. This lead to the debut releases of Kosmos "Tighten Up" and "Liquid Beats". By then, Dylan had definitely caught the bug and hasn’t looked back since. He has continued to produce killer after killer including the anthem "Need You" with DJ Ink, the "Inferno EP", "Dominion" and "Penitentiary" - just to name a few. Releasing on renown labels such as Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware, Outbreak, Cylon, Timeless, Moving Shadow, Droppin’ Science, Architecture, Musica, Biotic, XXX and has collaborated with a slew of top producers in the scene including Technical Itch, Limewax, Raiden, DJ Friction, Paradox, as well as his own projects "Faith in Chaos" alongside his wife Robyn Chaos, and "The Four Horsemen" together with Keaton, Loxy and Ink.
This past year has been a very busy one for Dylan, with the conception of his first solely owned label "Freak Recordings" responsible for some of the years hottest releases such as Knowledge Award winner D.Kay’s "Be There 4 U" and "Martians" as well as Mason featuring Armanni Reign "Ruff Rugged and Raw". 2006 also sees Dylan taking his place among the mighty soldiers of the legendary Metalheadz imprint with "Lost Dreams" an honour for someone so consistently inspired by the label’s releases over the years. Dylan and Robyn Chaos (Anger Management) also started up the now internationally renown "Therapy Sessions" in London’s Shoreditch, East End, without a doubt providing some of the deadliest mid week line-ups a junglist could ever wish for (for a price so reasonable, it’s practically theft).
From his residency at the Renegade Hardware nights at The End in Central London, to across the U.S.A., Puerto Rico, South Africa, Austria, Russia, Germany and, of course, the U.K., Dylan’s DJing has been consistently crippling dancefloors for years. His style ranges from demented darkness to ghetto funk, always retaining those trademark hard-driving, solid beats. The first releases from Freak Recordings twisted sister label "Obscene Recordings" and "Intasounds" (Alongside BBC's DJ Bailey) already have the Drum&Bass public in a frenzy! Always the one to watch out for, Dylan continues to produce an onslaught of Disco destroyers for your listening pleasure!

Es wird gemunkelt dass das selbe Wahnsinns-Soundsystem auch schon am 8. bei der Therapy Session im Einsatz sein wird...
