wieso muss es bei einem film immer um die handlung gehen?
film ist in erster linie immer noch ein visuelles medium - und genau darum gehts bei killbill. das klassische rache-thema an sich ist nur aufhaenger fuer das ganze drumherum: fuer die hommagen an klassische filmgenres (die animeszene - burner!!, samuraimovie, kungfustreifen, italowestern,...), fuer die wunderbare kombination von bild und musik, fuer sehr lustige und einfallsreiche dialoge/monologe ("my name is buck and i am here to fuck"  , lucy lius japanisch/englische ansprache vor den yakuza bossen,...), fuer die allgemein ueberzogene, meiner meinung nach komplett unrealstische, ins comichafte gehende darstellung von gewalt, usw...
und genau diese ganzen punkte machen den film meiner meinung nach so unterhaltsam, und genau darum gehts bei mir: um einen unterhaltsamen kinoabend (kino, mat, nicht ein 640x480 grosses windowsmediaplayerfenster auf deinem schlepptop :rolleyes
und ob der nun unterhaltsam ist, weil mich die geschichte so beschaeftigt, weil er irgendein thema anspricht, das mich zum nachdenken anregt, weil er mich vor lauter melancholie in tiefe depressionen stuerzt, weil er so lustig ist, dass es mich halb zerreisst, weil er aufgrund der superstory so spannend ist, dass ich mich anschiff, weils ein mitreissender bildersturm ohne irgendeine handlung ist, is ma echt wurscht - solang er mich unterhaelt.

wuascht im grunde hat natural born killers auch keine orge story. ein pärchen zieht durch die staaten und killt alle. die message ist aber sehr medienkritisch und der film ist einfach sehr phat gedreht. wäre der film nicht so gemacht worden, sondern auf klassisch road-movie gedreht worden wage ich zu bezweifeln, dass der film soviel zuspruch gefunden hätte. womit wir zum post von qube kommen. dem ich mich vollkommen anschließe.

aber warum ist in kill bill nichts von all dem ... ?
das find ich einfach schade ...

ich seh den unterschied zwischen kino und schlepptop nicht wirklich...
...und du hast recht - ein film ist gut solange er dich unterhält - mich hat diese willenlose aneinanderreihung von kung-fu filmszenen überhaupt nicht unterhalten sondern extrem gelangweilt - ist doch auch ok - oder nicht?
...und nur zur wunderbaren kombination von bild und musik - kannst da ein beispiel bringen - ich fand sowohl score als auch filmmusik bei killbill eine zumutung!

hehe und das ned nur wegen ihr, die anime szene, die fahrt durch die stadt( wo auch die musik extrem derb reinkommt), die szene im "club" und dann überhaupt der schlusskampf im japanischen wintergarten....
ich find auch dass der film extrem schön in szene gesetzt is.
und als erläuterndes beispiel zum thema mediaplayer<-->kino schlage ich anlage im donau <---> valve sound system vor

ein film in der die mitspielt ist für mich eigentlich schon von vornherein ultramies!

was liegt auf der hand?
mich hat der film gelangweilt, das hat er mich auf einem 15 cm breiten bildschirm, das hätte er auf der grössten leinwand der welt getan!
ich hab matrix 3 auch im imax gesehen und fand ihn fürchterlich mies! genauso hätt ich ihn fürchertlich mies gefunden wenn ich ihn auf einem palm mit 2 cm durchmesser gesehen hätte!
ich find einfach nicht das die qualität oder der unterhaltungswert eines filmes von der grösse der leinwand abhängt, aber du kannst das ja auch anders sehen!
...und die szene die du meinst - hm - und was war daran super?

jap da geb ich dir recht. mich hat er nur einfach nicht unterhalten. hm. einfach nochmal angucken. vielleicht war ich an dem abend auch nur nicht in der stimmung für so einen film.
trotzdem muss ich sagen. ein wirklich guter film ist der, der mich nicht nur unterhält. dazu gäbs jetzt noch viel zu sagen und so wenig zeit. also später mehr...

also erstens hab ich fette boxen daheim und die sind sogar an den laptop angeschlossen...
...und zweitens fand ich killbill nicht visuell unansprechend oder was weiss ich, was von einem zu kleinen monitor abhängt, ich fand ihn einfach fad und wenn was fad ist, dann ist es auf jeder leinwandgrösse gleichfad!
ich will kill bill ja überhaupt nicht absprechen gut gemacht zu sein oder was auch immer - ich persönlich fands einfach fad, langweilig, ermüdend, unaufregend und unberührend...
...und das würd sich auch auf der grössten leinwand der welt nicht ändern!
genauso wie ein drumandbass track den ich mies find, auf der besten anlage der welt auch nicht besser wird, er hört sich besser an aber wenn ich die idee dahinter nicht mag, mag ich die idee dahinter nicht!
