ajo, gibt schon an kommentar dazu auf facebook:
quote: hi kids - do not believe everything that is written in the newspaper,
its not a fake, its a vision!
and sorry that this feedback comes so late, but here it is:
first of all, this picture shows not a premixed dnb set, it shows a very special pre sequenced ableton dj set.
the idea came up when camo&krooked released their minimix mashup 4 annie mac, aired on bbc 1.
in case you´ve never heard about it - check:
it was the time when playing with 2-4 cd decks was bored, because the limit of playing fast and special was reached.
so the idea was to create a live mask you can translate such a minimix 4 live sets.
we play on 6 ableton decks:
deck A Main track 1
deck B Main track 2
deck C Sub track 1
deck D Sub track 2
deck E SFX track 1
deck F SFX track 2
the main tracks mixed on 2 channels on the mixer of the club - the sub and sfx tracks mixed on apc and adds the channel 1 or 2 on the club mixer as needed
it gives you the possibility to play in a manner you could even think of it when you play with vinyl, cds, or synced laptop sets with serato, traktor etc.
its damn easy to skip a track if its played in the set before, and you could also do rewinds when you put the right plug in chain together.
it would be the best option to use all 4 channels on the club mixer and do not the sub mixing via the apc but its virtually not possible if you're not the main act! - the act before and after you also need the channels to punch in and out, and of course you need the 2 channels if your laptop fucked up during the set to go further on cds. (what happened @ urban art forms festival - the show go on with the 2 cd decks)
many people laughed when we started to play with cd decks, and today i do not see many vinyls on decks. when kids started djing this time they will not learn how to beat match, they would spend their time in being creative to make big sets with many tunes played in less time with crazy effects on it.
at least: for us being a dj is to entertain people not to synchronize tracks, and using ableton is the way for us to mix down a maximum amount of tracks in little time , and this is just the beginning.
in the moment we just try to work out a special middle dnb part inspired by this guy:
ableton is great!
don't be shy, have fun with it!
paul 4 snitchbros
ganz check i ned was er meint aber dürft eher so a art ableton-liveact gwesn sein
