Roska begann seine Karriere 1998 als UK Garage MC. Als sich Szene und Sound veränderten machte auch Roska die Wandlung vom MC zum Produzenten und gilt heute als einer der angesehensten Protagonisten des UK Funky einer Musikrichtung um die 130 BPM, die sich aus Elementen des UK Garage, House, Broken Beat und Soca bedient. In England beschrieb der Guardian UK Funky als "probably the most exciting development in UK music since garage became grime."
